About
Delro Rosco creates abstract paintings inspired by observation, memory, human connection, and the rhythms of everyday life. His work offers encouragement, seeking traces of hope within human brokenness, imperfection, and the fragility of existence. Each piece emerges through a meticulous, layered process, incorporating materials such as pulverized mineral pigments, sand, glass, hand-beaten paper mulberry fiber, and metal leaf. “I’m moved by what I see; I paint what I hope for,” Rosco reflects. His practice draws from a deep sense of wonder — moving from inspiration in creation to contemplation of what lies beyond it.
Statement
Through observation and memory, I translate fleeting impressions of the natural world into layered works that balance abstraction with subtle traces of reality. My process is slow and meditative, building one layer at a time over weeks, months, and sometimes even years. Each passage captures a moment in time, formed with materials such as pulverized minerals, ground shells, sand, and delicate leaves of silver and gold.
This way of working creates space to wrestle with truths from my faith journey while navigating the brokenness of the world. The paintings become journals of discovery — visual meditations on fragility, resilience, and the search for hope.
